Basically they want to get some sort of profit gain somehow. So they use the old psychology and try to get people to believe that they're getting a proper deal when they're buying an amp for $50 or so.

Its sort of funny that they charge shipping charge even if you pick it up locally!

Needless to say I did buy an amp from China 2 years ago and I paid about $180 for and its been flawless. The shipping was something like $120 at the time so it wasn't quite the murder it is today. I bought it from a fellow with the ID of richtonaudio. He's a good seller and has great communication even if his English isn't the best.

Nothing wrong with Chinese Tube products Period

In fact the SINO/Shuguang Brand of tubes are some of the best on the market and used in large named products from Jolida, Primaluna and onwards..

I have a Yaqin made KT88 amplifier, built to spec for grantfidelity.com
Out of the box, the amplifier was great.. and with breaking and proper Biasing it gradually got better & better

I switched out the 12AX7 pre-amp tubes with Electro Harmonix Gold pin, which appear to be a bit smoother.. but the Shuguang KT-88s are just Top notch, as they are basically remanufactured Golden Lions

The EL34s that come with the MC10 is too an excellent sounding amplifier... which at Grantfidelity.com has also requested built to spec for our 110v market

Cheers!

If the Yuin Ok1's are chinese, and they are, there are really good Hi-Fi equipment manufacturers in China!
And I really hope they give away some drugs for that price in shipping!

Also, note the benefit for the seller of "Shipping charges are not refundable." when you are buying an item like this that has the bulk of the price in the shipping cost.

i bought a music angel KT88 on ebay, and im very pleased with it; the lampizator mods on the other hand is pure trash, and ruins this perfectly fine amp!

Since the price of the item (i.e. shipping charges) are not refundable, this would be a no deal for me. Also, I personally wouldn't order an item from overseas that couldn't be serviced locally under warranty.

My dad has the Yaqin MC-10L and another Chinese amp, the Dussun V8i, and from my experience either of them has done a great job driving his Harbeth ES2's.

500W DUSSUN V8I CLASS A INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER - eBay (item 350082612701 end time Aug-23-08 07:39:50 PDT)

^^ the above link for some more info on the Dussun V8i.
