This Denon 2900 Universal Player sounds and looks great. It is an upgraded unit that I bought two years ago for $475, plus shipping. I'm selling it because I replace it with a >$3.2K CDP.

The unit has a SDI output added so that it can send a pure digital signal to any compatible video scaler, etc. It also has many mods to its audio board in order to optimize its sound. These mods were made by Home Theater Specialties Co., which are mods that they've made to other Denon 2900 units, and thereby substantially improved their sound.

Their declared mods include: front L&R opamp upgrades, 4opa627, 2 opa2134, 2 ad825; upgraded power supply filter and power tank caps -- 8 Riken ohm resistors; upgraded audio board signal caps -- 4 fast switch soft recovery diodes in Power Supply; 1/2 sq ft of anti-vibration material around main board and transport.
