Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 Pro Earphones Vs. Etymotic ER-4P Vs. Audio Technica CK7

Hi...i have the Audio Technica CK7 and love these canalphones alot. They are very good but i am looking to upgrade & alot of reviews give the Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 Pro Earphones & Etymotic ER-4P high marks. But how much better are these than the CK7 in terms of sound quality?

Are they worth the upgrade?

I am looking for accurate sound reproduction from my source (portable cd player) (without enhancements of any kind ex. enhanced bass etc...)!!!!

Ety ER-4 v CK7?
Had both. Are the Etys better?

In a word, absolutely!

You will lose the sheer bass amount of the CK7, but gain clear and deep bass and clean detailed highs that, in general (but watch your bitrates) are not painfully bright...ER-4 is like an open window into the music. While very enjoyable and a fun 'phone (& a good backup to my Ety), CK7 never had the curtains open...

My ER4S are noticeably more detailed in the highs, but I find my CK7 more enjoyable on a day to day basis. So yes I think they are technically better, but I prefer my CK7 for music, I prefer my ER4S if I'm trying to analyze the quality of the recording.

Put it this way, if I lost both pairs, I'd only replace my CK7

The only earphone I'd sacrifice my CK7's for are the Triple.Fi 10 which takes everything that is good about the CK7 but adds in more refinement. They are like the best of the CK7 and ER4S in one earphone.

As for the Super.Fi, I would rank them on par with the CK7 (may be better or worse depending on whether you like a warmer sound or not)
