unbalanced GS1000 to balanced - Page 2

You won't have balanced if you don't reterminate. You can cause serious problems using a 1/4" jack to xlr adapter. You'll need to take off the 1/4" plug, and solder on either a 4pin or 2xXLR connectors.

That doesn't make sense at all. If you desolder the cable at the cups the heat will be placed much nearer to the phones themselves and you would have to solder it later back on again so you would heat them twice. On the other hand if you have a 2m cable and solder a new connector onto it, the heat won't probably even arrive to the other end of the cable as it cools down itself. And you wouldn't keep the soldering iron for some minutes on the cable anyway, wouldn't you?

I believe it will be best to send them to an experienced person like Drew from Moon Audio after all

the GS1k has been shipped to Drew, I hope I won't have any trouble with the customs on it's return (delay)

Yesterday I received my reterminated GS1000 and it sounds awesome! I am so happy! I didn't expect it would arrive so fast.
