DHL Sucks - Page 2

My most insane mail experience was with a Head-Fi'er who lived in California. I asked for Priority Mail, so he paid the extra $2.00 or whatever and shipped it to me. He dropped it off at their facility about midday Tuesday. Thursday morning, the package was on my doorstep. Those guys are insane!

Never, ever, ever, ever, ever get First Class Mail, though. I had a Head-Fi'er mail me something via first class, and it took 8 business days to get to me, almost two weeks when all was said and done. Plus, we just had a lease for our apartment disppear in the mail that was sent via first class. I cannot possibly imagine what makes it so, so slow compared to Priority, which usually is about 2-3 days, and was four days only once.

UPS varies based on the seller, I've found. PartsExpress somehow manages to get two day shipping out of UPS ground (no joke), while some ebay sellers have shipped UPS only to have it take over a week (watching the tracking just makes it more painful, and I've had to call them before because it was stuck and they were like "oh, oops, that package was accidentally put on hold").

One thing's for sure about UPS, though, they beat their packages to hell. We just had a radiator come in the mail, well-packaged, literally BENT from who knows what. I never ask for electronics to be shipped via UPS.

It really depends I guess, because to me First Class is always 3 days anywhere with in Cont. US.

Anyway, heres update. It's day 4 and still no package. Amazing it takes 5 days to get a package from NJ to PA, shows you how affective DHL is.

My opinion for logistics company is, if you can' provide for full logistics for everyone everywhere, then don't even try. Non of this handing off to USPS crap because "more efficient" DHL&USPS has got to be the worst thing ever.

DHL does suck.

They say they come to my house to "attempt delivery" even though I sit basically by the door, waiting for the package. They lie, and have really bad business ethics.

DHL sucks. They lie like hell!

I ordered a watch and estimated delivery was 2-3 days. After 7 Days I was anxious so I called up customer support and was told it would be delivered the next day. I called them everyday until I got my package and they kept lying that it would be delivered the next day.

The tracking was really screwy as it said the package wasdelivered to the wrong HUB or something 2 times.

5 days later I finally got my package in banged up condition.

...
Now that I think about it, I used DHL once before and they were extremely fast. I guess it depends on where you send it from.

I've never had an issue with USPS.

UPS always breaks my stuff and takes 6 days to deliver something 100 miles.

I'd have to agree that they suck.

I don't have a whole lot of experience with them, but with 2 orders they simply couldn't find my house, or must have mistaken it. They kept telling me they rang and nobody was home, even tho I was there all day, I ended up having to cancel the orders.

I've never had any issues with DHL, FedEx, UPS or Canada Post...

But I've had a couple with USPS.
I ordered a Samsung 275T+ monitor about a month ago, it DID ship from the seller's end. Supposed to be there about 3 days later. I waited for a week and a half no packages. Seller and I was trying to get hold to where the package is. Long story short, I got a call from a random person asking "is this your package? been here a week and a half bud..." Apparently, the seller actually wrote my cell number so I lucked out. The damn post man missed my shipping location by 7 miles!!

We are on the 6th business day for a package from NJ to PA, still no package. Amazing.

If I walked over to grab my package and walk back, I would have made it by now...

I think they're drying the package before they deliver it to you

dhl is extremely unreliable. my company's messenger service has an account with them so we tend to use them once in a while. dhl's next day service is not really next day service.
i am in north jersey, sent a next day service package to south jersey, it somehow ended up in pennsylvania, then took another 2 days to get to the destination.
last friday, the dhl guy couldnt find my office (we're on a highway, the only office building) and my boss had to go pick up the shipment at the dhl facility.
usps overnight/priority > ups > fedex > everything else > dhl

Receiving Amazon.com orders via DHL Global Mail in Canada has always been unreliable for me. They almost always arrive a week after estimated date. When I ordered Meelectronics M9P on January 31st, the estimated delivery date was February 10. But it actually arrived on February 17th for some reason. I ordered Sennheiser HD25-1 II on December 5th. Amazon.com said the estimated delivery date was December 14th. But nope, it didn't arrive yet. So I checked the Canada Post website for tracking. Seems the expected delivery date was changed to December 12th to December 20th because "Item was received by Canada Post after cut-off time"!! WTF mad.gif It also says that the item is out for delivery at 12PM today. How long does it take to get the package delivered?!

EDIT: Apparently the package was "redirected to a new address". I don't have any address redirections. CSR told me to wait until expected delivery date (which is tomorrow) and see what happens.

Last time I ordered something delivered by DHL, it arrived at their dispatch point a full two days early. They refused to send it out until the designated date. A date they missed. So in spite of the package getting to town early, they delivered it late. Never again. I will just refuse to do business with anyone who ships with DHL.
