Must agree....

Pink Floyd lived and made music in the era that was The Beatles.

And then again they just might like PF better I have both but I tend to listen

From Rubber Soul forwards will cover the best Beatles albums, but there is nothing wrong with the earlier albums either in terms of tunes, energy and quality. Nothing matches Rubber Soul and Revolver in greatness however - these 2 albums alone would ensure that the Beatles stood head and shoulders above Pink Floyd and most other bands. Still the poll did say which do you prefer, not which is better...

Also the poll is among these forum members and not among the music buying
public as wikpedia will show a different outcome.

I like both-the Beatles more than Floyd. The Beatles output was more diverse and they have been more influential. They were both great, but some are greater than others.

I haven't listened to much from Pink Floyd.

I've always appreciate The Beatles music I just love listening to them

Well, new crowd, more comments. Since we're bouncing Dave's old poll debates.

Pink Floyd, simply for not being a boy band...  *currently putting on flame suit...*

I was a big listener of PF way back when, and actually loved their music, but they are soon becoming irrelevant. I don't completely understand why, but maybe because PF was little more than just music I "got into", but that's a simplification.  Not that I won't look into the new remasters coming up, because I want the best for those every two year listening sessions.

The Beatle--still relevant.

For me, it's Pink Floyd by a long way!!

I have all their albums (CD & Vinyl) which get played at least once a week.

I also have all of the Beatles albums (mostly Vinyl) - I can't remember the last time I played one of them?

Much of this has to do with the SQ of the PF music that I have - far superior.

each to their own - enjoy your Music - biggrin.gif

Ugh, Pink Floyd and its not even remotely close.

I'd have to say hands down Pink Floyd but to each their own. Both are no doubt legends for a reason but the emotion that Pink Floyds music can bring out when played is unparalleled. When I listen to Pink Floyd I feel like I'm their experiencing the same (often horrible) things. Its depressing to listen to but non the less a true work of art. The Beatles are very good and will never be forgotten but for me at least it just not carry that same sense of history and emotion that Pink Floyd does.

The Beatles - broader spectrum of work.

But to be honest, I never understood the love people have for Pink Floyd.

I've tried to like The Beatles but I just cannot do it. In my opinion they suck so this is exactly my sentiment.

As much as I love music from that era, I can't bring myself to listen to but a few songs from The Beatles. I can appreciate what they did for music in general but they're just not my cup of tea. But I like The Stones so go figure.

In any case, I love Pink Floyd so it's obvious to say I like them more than The Beatles.
