I hear you. No headphones setup will ever match the listening experience and enjoyment i get out my speaker rig.

 

Trying to audition a pair of Tannoy Turnberry SEs for a possible upgrade later in the year.

Yeah, my uncle has a pair of Timpani's in his living room. Completely blows away any headphone or dynamic speaker rig I've heard to date. smily_headphones1.gif The only speakers I myself prefer are the Martin Logan electrostatics with the 8" dynamic woofer, as the Mags are a little bass-shy for my taste (but still amazing nevertheless)

And yes its a test lf amp with an early proto design that I use exclusively as a preamplifier. Running Siemens halske ecc88 in them


At RMAF the LL was my favorite amp with the O2 Mk1.

I can understand why completely. The last two months have cemented the fact that this is the best headphone sound I have ever experienced since i registered on this site..period.

 

I have heard the O2Mk1 on the exstata, hybrid and solid state, SRM1-mk2, SRM-717 and the BHSE before and never felt taken with them like i have been the past couple of months with this amp. 

 

Speakers as good as they are, the O2mk1 and test amp combo have their permanent place in my home for my quiet time listening like I do every night now..as in, like right now. :)

Wait until you try the SR-009 on the Liquid Lightning - that's also a fantastic combo.  I'll still seriously considering selling my WES to buy an LL.

i have 3 monitors as well + the same computer case. 

 

i use klipsch pro media 2.1 as speakers.
