However, I have found that further tweaks such as recabling and the use of Amarra Hifi software can make the sound more engaging.

Yeah - I got my eye on the DA11 and I wonder does it display the same characteristics as the DA10?  Or what has changed in the sound sig.

From what I understand the DA11 is quite similar to the DA10 in terms of sound. The most significant difference of the DA11 from the DA10 is the DA11's PIC feature that allows the size of the stereo image to be adjusted.

OK - I'm really not interested in the PIC at this point.  What other DAC do you have your eyes on that can compare to the DA10 / 11?

I don't really have my eyes on any other DACs at the moment as I'm very satisfied with and enjoying the DA10, but I do hear that the NuForce DAC-100 is a great bit of kit - may be worth checking out, as could the Benchmark DAC1.

That's a negative on the NuForce.  No AES input or balanced outputs.

Nothing special but...smile.gif

These are pictures of my audio system two month ago. Now I'm modifying the situation of the components and making changes -the new electrostactic amplifier has to come, the Stax SR-009, I'm going to sell -or trade- the fantastic Octave V40SE, selling or trading the spekers monitors, new headphone stand from WooAudio is on the way as well. So....

I'll keep my AudioNote DAC 3.1x. One of the two DAC outputs is for WA2 OTL & HD 800 and the second will be for the new electrostatic amplifier and SR-009. I'm going to use only headphones.

The source?....iPad 3 & iTunes Match & DAC. Everything ripped to MP3 320 kbpswink_face.gif and sometimes Toshiba Portegé +HIFACE  -USB/BNC audio converter

The Octave V40SE

My speakers and building process.

That's all...well one more. Two months ago was 1513...now about 1900.

Cheers

Nice setup and great job on those beautiful speakers!

What are the drivers on those, looks like an Usher paper woofer and a silk dome tweeter?

Can't believe I read every single of almost 3 thousand post in this thread. Seems to be really engaging for me. For me, every posted setup in thread was very good, but few couples of them were simply speechless. Really, folks. It is amazing that one could so love the music, not only music, I mean.

This is the place where all my dreams crosses. I will refine myself and, I suppose, my future hobby, to this elevation. No one niche of enjoyment give me those chills, those desire to go forward like music, and gear, of course.

Thanks to you, friends, that was sublime! Subscribed!
