To be honest I'm in the other camp when it comes to cables. I don't think a $1000 cable sounds much different then a el-cheapo. Most of that is just hype business' use to make it sound like you are getting the best cable ever. Bose did it. Remember " You can polish a turd, but it's still a turd"

But instead of starting a big debate on cables. I fell the Mogami did tighten up the Bass a bit and smoothed out the highs. Plus it is MUCH easier to store ect!!
Sonic differences-Not a whole lot of change-little at best. To me it just feels tighter all around. I did a test on the stock and the Mogami and it seams the signal on the Mogami is faster and stronger then stock but that also has to do with the Mogami being shorter. Sonic wise. Ahh!!! Who knows?

I've had the D2000 for over a month now. I'm down with lots of bass so I cant complain. Very nice for gaming too. I have not heard/read anyting with regards to earpad replacements though.

My recable job is fairly stiff (techflex over two twisted pairs), and it pretty much CAN'T tangle up, lol. Hell, just coiling loops and having them stay is a pain in the ass. Add the heavy Neutrik plug to the mix, and when I hang the cable up, the plug wants to pull the whole thing to the floor, lol. I didn't even know the stock cable was an issue...is it really that bad?

I'm have a bit of O.C.D., so my cables never get tangled. I always wind them and unwind them with extreme care to make sure they don't tangle. As a result, my Denon cables look good as new, and are tangle free. The D2000 cable is simple to keep untangled for me, but the D5000 cable is a beast, and requires a bit more attention / effort to tame.

I'll bump this thread cuz I just got them today! All I have to say is wow, they really compliment the K701. I would consider these cans more fun than the K701. Soundstage isn't as big as the K701, but I bought these to listen to my music differently. It really fits my criteria. The biggest difference (besides the sounstage) between K701 and D2000 is the bass impact (the latter has more). The FR graphs I've seen fits it perfectly in comparison to K701. I'll be keeping these as my closed cans for several years to come assuming i don't catch the upgrade bug.

Denon d2000 owner for a second time :)

Use it as can for bass heavy genres in my case little rap, trip hop and drum and bass as well for multimedia and for those purposes... I am very pleased. My thought is that akg k702 is much better can, but that's just my preference.
