. . . the twisted cable near the yoke!
Hi, this is my first post and I had some questions. Does the Denon AH-D2000 offer any earpad cushion replacement? I am just worried if these ear pads can be replaced if they ever wear out in the future. So far I've owned my Denons for about 1 week and absolutely love them. My portable audio source is a Cowon audio D2 which I use only in home, so my question is would the Ibasso D2 boa be a good combination with my AH-D2000. If not could you guys suggest other amp options? Thank you..

I used to have that setup, Cown D2 > Boa > Denon D2k, i love the sound out of it. I had the Lyrix pro to compare with, i prefer the Boa. Sound is more transparent and the metal case does look good.

That cord bothered me so much. Wasn't it supposed to be a tangle free design?

Hey, fellow D2000ers, see Mikha's amp thread, compliled especially for the D2000:

I've added my impressions for the Bada PH-12 and the Darkvoice 337 already! : )

You mean like a day-old plate of spaghetti? I end up rotating the headphones every once in a while to de-tangle. Below the yoke, you have this thick, unwieldy cord that looks like it came off a telephone from the 1930's; above the yoke these flimsy, gnarly leads.

Still "love" my D2000's, though, tangled cable, loose screws, sweaty earpads, slipping ratchet adjustment and all! : )

I'll be damned if I can get my APS v3 to become twisted.

You know you want it Pata...

Yeah the cord on these cans is a mess. If you wanna go cheap you can remove the sleeving from the yolk down and it helps ALOT. The screws are an easy fix. Just Loctite those suckers and they won't budge. Still haven't figured the ratchet yet. Even if you tighten the screws it still does it. The Sweat, no cure You can also make your own replacement cable on the cheap.
Mogami Mini quad-Gold Neutrik mini-cost $15-time 40 mins or so.
Save your money, the v3 is nice but that price tag isn't

Nice work, Token! How does your recable compare to the stock Denon cable? : )

The Mini is the 2893, If you buy the standard get a 1/4 plug. It is a PAIN in the a** to put it in a mini. It can be done tho but it's tight. The mini fits perfect in a mini plug. I think Redco also sells it? About the same price but they have all the colors Marker just has black.

Thank you Pataburd! I noticed that my stock cable is already wearing out on the very end where the mini connector is. Has anyone else experience this problem and would I be able to replace the EARPADS if they ever wear out, I've looked on Denons website and found no information for replacements. One final question, I am in the process of burning these headphones in to perform at its best and wanted to know how many hours should I leave the pink noise(FLAC) on? I have the gain level on the Ibasso Boa D2 on the 3:00 position at high gain and the output(PC Speaker) volume where I would normally listen to. Is this the correct procedure to burn in amp and headphone? Hopefully I won't get bashed for asking this silly question. Thanks much appreciated.

Generally, you would want to max out your pc volume output and adjust the volume on your amp accordingly.

As for burning in the D2000, It took around 200 hours until the obviously recessed vocals(when brand new) came alive and turned the d2000 into a very nice sounding headphone.
