And which Zen generations are you talking about , name the players.

How does the SQ of the X-Fi compare to that of the earlier Nomad jukebox or ZVM?

When we talk about "audio quality," most people assume we mean how pleasing something sounds to your ear. Unfortunately, our tests don't measure how pleasant an MP3 player audio chip sounds, but how accurately it performs. Paradoxically, not all accurate players sound great, and some of our favorite-sounding MP3 players have a few technical shortcomings.
I used to have a 30GB Zen and I borrowed a 1st gen Flash Zen 16GB from someone at work. I didn't think it sounded better then the HD one, and I prefered my Sony A818 etc. But it sound ok, but nothing special. Thats just my opinion, not based on any testing at all. However I thought it was nice player to use.

The 32gb Zen flash, and the 32gb X-Fi is what's being referred to. I owned the Zen 32gb myself, and the SQ was disappointing. As for the X-Fi, I never tried it, so I'd be at a loss to try to give an opinion (but I did hear it sounded better than the Zen I owned).

Ok, all my Zens I own are the HDD based ones such as the Zen Vision M, Zen Touch and Zen Nomad Jukebox.

I have never owned any flash based Zens but I will say that I love my HDD based Zens and very happy with em.

I'm confused. They (Zen mx/X-Fi) are not the latest players as per the title of this thread. The X-Fi 2 is.
