Well, they went out of production about 3 years back. So quite hard to get ahold of a new pair...

The price for a used pairs varies a lot though, depending on condition, luck, and more. Just one month ago a Head-Fi'er scored a nice condition K1000 for around $350, while others sell for $1500-1600.
That said, $1100-1300 seems to be the average.
