Have you ever just found that synergy between headphone and player?

Was wondering what that magical mixture of headphone and player is for everyone else.
Mine is the Yuin pk3 buds with the Iaudio x5. Heaven for me atleast.

Strangely enough, some cheap sony MD-player and EX70s. The combination sounded much better then both components on their own ewhich were mediocre. Then the EX70 died and I bought the Ex71, gone was the synergy, even though the headphones on their own were slightly better (though still not good).
