SOLD: HeadRoom Desktop Balanced Amp/DAC & Desktop Power Supply | can be used single-ended, too!

SOLD Life is about sacrifice. And, so, as I switch over to 'stats, the dynamic rig has to be scaled down. I love this amp. It sounds great and is very versatile and I miss it already, but it's time to find it a new home. NOTE: each XLR jack incorporates a 1/4" jack so that you can use single-ended phones, too!

For sale is the HeadRoom Desktop Balanced Amp w/DAC (both with Home Modules) plus the HeadRoom Desktop Power Supply, which makes for a significant improvement IMO. Also included are the power cord to the PS, 2 HeadRoom umbilicals (which includes an extra one I purchased) to go from the PS to amp(s), and a Radio Shack digital cable. I purchased the amp in late May 2007, so it has close to 1 year left on the warranty.

Disclosures: the amp just returned from HeadRoom due to a volume knob that wouldn't stay on the pot shaft. All checked out ok in Bozeman, and HeadRoom fixed the knob. I tested the amp and it still sounds great. The Desktop Power Supply works fine, but it was a demo unit, so it has signs of wear including, but not limited to, a very dim power on LED. The flaws are purely cosmetic and the PS works perfectly. As many of you know, I take very good care of my gear.

Price: $1350 (which includes shipping, insurance, and paypal). I accept paypal and ship only within the US (Hawaii and Alaska will be a bit more for postage). Brand new, I believe the rig (and extra cable) would cost $1851.00. Please feel free to ask me questions.

Just a note to those unfamiliar with this amp: the XLR connections each incorporate a 1/4" jack, so the amp also drives single-ended headphones, which is one of the reasons this rig is so versatile.

Man, when you consider that this comes with a heck of a built in balanced source that can take anything from USB to COAX digital it's one heck of a deal.

I would have been all over this if my wife hadn't just bought 5 plane tickets to go to Hawaii this Xmas.

Yah. For me its wrong voltage and just spent all my gelt on an Earmax Pro + tubes. Otherwise very difficult not to be drawn to the dark side with this one. With the DAC and Desktop Power Supply, its kind of the holy grail.

Point of clarification, since Vincent is busy with lawyering, as far as I know the Desktop PS can be converted to 230V with the flip of a switch.

I don't think so (but it would be nice). The site makes you choose which you want to buy.

Yes, but that's just for the original setting when shipped. The voltage is easily user configurable by removing the fuse block, moving a switch, and replacing. I know, I've done it - takes about 30 seconds.

In any case, HeadRoom is super responsive to questions, and they could confirm for any prospective buyer.

Please refer to the user manual that is readily available on HeadRoom's website, which confirms that the unit can easily be converted. I hope that clarifies this issue.
