How to recable balanced?

im getting a little confused about how to recable headphones ive been looking into recabling for a while and i wanted to make a balanced headphone from single ended im getting confused with the picture in the thread "how to make an interconnect" there is only one picture with 2 wires hooked up as cold and two hooked up as hot, does anybody know where i can find a complete guide with pictures on how to make a balanced connection? ive tried here and on google but with little luck on both ends the xlr end and the headphone end.

my confusion is that in the interconnect picture of the XLR there are two wires hooked up to the Hot and cold and one shield for ground. dont u need two male connectors for balanced? how do u do that?

that's pretty much how it works, though i'd rather say positive signal and negative signal than hot and cold. If you have a shield, it goes to the other pin on the XLR-3. That's for each driver.
