Woo Audio WA6 SE - Internal Photos, Pg. 10/11 - Page 2

Yes, the 274B Princess mesh plate does have a special quality, well worth the price.

I am looking forward to your impressions after 100 hours or so of use on the amp.

I never thought of using the 6 as a weapon. I have noticed that every time I go to swing it around my head that it flies off the power cord so I can't get an real speed for that projectile effect. Maybe it is just as well. It would most likely be bad press for Woo Audio. :^)

How much did the stock version cost?

Why not check the Woo website? It's clearly posted there.

So would I.

I have a WA2 and WA4 with full upgrades, and when I look at their internals, the layout and wiring looks ever so much neater/better than the pictures on the website. I think Woo needs to update the internal pics. Their delivered products are better than advertised to my mind...

Any chance I can use the Sophia 274B Princess mesh plate with my modded WA6 as it currently stands?

Jack feels you can because the voltage is much lower than normally used with amp like speaker amps that run at 400 volts or more and the 6 runs at 200 volts. The current draw of 75mA's at 400 volts would be a bigger stress that 75 at 200. I am using a 22uf because I got too much hum with just the 5uf and it is working fine. But that is far from the 200uf in the standard configuration. Again though, Jack feels it is fine and sells the meshy for the 6 as it stands.

anyone using this Woo with GS1000s?
not to get off topic, but sophia electric sells the 274B Princess Meshplate for $140 with 30 day warranty. Woo sells the tube for $190 with 30 day warranty. Is there a difference between these tubes? I don't know much about tubes, but is the tube Woo is selling custom for the wa6 se (aka will the one direct from sophia electric not work with the wa6 se)?

Does anyone know how the wa6 sounds next to the woo2?
