I would like to trade my transportable rig. It is completely battery-operated and perfect for desktop/bedside/end table use. It consists of the following:
- Portaphile "V2^2" (maxxed-out) in black
- Tekkeon "Mypower" rechargeable battery (w/all accessories)
- Zynsonix "VRay" mini-to-mini cable w/right-angle plugs at both ends
- YOUR CHOICE of one of the following PCDP's from my collection:
a) Sony "D-335" (very good condition but slight crack in the display
window - functions perfectly - great line out...)
b) Sony "D-321" (very good condition - functions perfectly - great
line out)
c) Sony "D-36" (excellent condition - functions perfectly - good line
out)
d) Philips "AZ6832/10" (very good condition - functions perfectly -
no line out, runs from HP out)
The rig is kinda cool, if I do say so, myself! The Tekkeon battery forms the foundation of the rig, with the PCDP and Portaphile velcroed onto the battery. The unit stays together solidly and it's easy to move around. Why the battery in the first place? Well, maxxed-out Portaphiles w/all switches "On" draw a lot of current. A LOT. So, battery life from a 9V rechargeable can be as low as 2 hours. Also, the Portaphile can handle up to 16V. This Tekkeon can be adjusted from 3V to 15V, and I run this rig on 15V for better sound quality. The battery has only about 12 hours on it since I bought it, so it's got a heckuva lifespan left.
The Portaphile was burned in for 250 hours when I first got it, then saw very limited use. It is in pristine condition. It's a great amp.
I used this rig to power my 250ohm DT-880's while I didn't have a full-size rig. I honestly didn't miss the full-size rig that much while I listened to this transportable rig. It sounds that good.
I don't want to break it up and sell the pieces. I don't want money for it. Traded for portable amp/DAC combo on 4/5 - offer what you've got and we'll talk.
