If so, then once you replace the HDD with CF card, how do you install the initial firmware or OS on the new CF?

TIA for any replies.

Proud Gigabeat "F120" owner, now. Took the plunge and upgraded my hard drive to 120GB. I had actually forgotten about this thread...

I have owned, and sold, quite a few DAP's in the last year, but this player really blows me away. Definitely better than all the iPod's I've owned. Plus, the video is sharp and drop-free. Also, I think it sounds better than my Clip (using my Sony cans and FiiO).

But, my D2 + Sony HP + FiiO still beats it out, at least to my ears.

where do find instructions for upgrading the hard drive??

i have a couple of f40s.  i actually just bought a second one on ebay.  i've found nothing to make me switch.  i would love to upgrade to bigger hard drive to listen to almost all flac files.  rockbox + flac files + gigabeat + shure se535 earphones = irreproachably heavenly sound!!   don't enjoy lower quality files.

thank you.
