IC: Hawaii Meet

Hey guys, I'm planning to buy my first pair of "serious" headphones soon. And from what I've read/been told, I should respect people's opinions, but I should ultimately try any phones I'm considering personally in person. So I was wondering if there were any Head-fi people from the 50th state, Hawaii.

I'm located on Oahu, Chinatown area. Is anyone out there willing to allow me to sample some of their gear?

So far I've only planned to buy cheap KSC 75 and JVC Marshmallows to have a good portable and IEM. To see if I can handle walking around with something sticking in my ears.

Thanks for reading, please PM me if you're interested.

I live up in Makakilo, and everything i have is in my sig. I'd be willing to set something up to try things out if you wanted.

Sounds like fun! I am awaiting the TTVJ 307A at the end of the month, so that should be a lot of fun to audition. Things I can bring are the RSA B-52, Cary SLI-80 F1, Senn HD650, Sony MDR-SA5000, and JVC DX1000.

Riceboy and Ricey20 are also here on island, so we should invite them too.

That's it, I'm moving to Hawaii! You guys have all the good toys.

I'm definitely up for this! I live in town but can head out anywhere. Can contribute Grado RS1 / SR-225 for listening, and I can also bring two friends, one with V-moda Vibes and the other with Beyerdynamic DT880's.

Also got a Pico DAC/amp, iBasso D1 (slightly broken though), and Cowon D2 that I can throw into the mix.

P.S. I know Ricey20 from high school, would be nice seeing him again. I know he has the top-of-the-line Audio-Technica headphones and a Pico amp.

Hah hey Ranma, I actually sold my W5000s and HD650s, had to clear out some stuff and make back some of that money . I can bring 4N6's balanced Edition 9s, my Supra XLR, Pico, K340, K400, K240 MP Sextett. Keep me updated, and I do want to hear that 307A

Ok thanks for all of the responses everyone. The only things to work out now is where to meet, and if nourishment must be there. And if so what type.

Anyone willing to volunteer their house as a meeting spot?
If not I'll try to opt for a hotel room.

I fear the idea of spilling or getting stains on these wonderful gear.

Oh yeah, I was wondering maybe you should bring items what you want to sell. Since we're all in Hawaii, why pay the shipping costs? Plus who needs pics when they can inspect and listen to then first hand?

I think I might be able to host my house, that is after we move into it. We're moving on July 1st and I'll clear it with my folks if you guys are up for it.

Another option would be to have it at Ala Moana beach park. All we would need is a portable grill and some beach chairs. Clean up would be a lot easier too. Anyway, just another option.
