For Classical, Jazz, Soundtrack, and World music

[This site out of the UK always provided good service, undamaged products and good selection. They fall behind Amazon and ArkivMusic though just because that's who I normally use.]

Was just referred to this site after reading a review, so no impressions yet on speed of service or quality of their products.

I know there are some progressive rock fans on this board, so these might be of interest -

Wayside Music - http://www.waysidemusic.com/
Great for the more avant-garde and experimental side of things (RIO, free jazz, avant-rock)

The Laser's Edge - http://www.lasercd.com/
More of a focus on traditional prog rock and progressive metal

Syn-Phonic - http://www.synphonic.8m.com/
The BIGGEST selection of prog rock from all over the world; also, the best service of any online music vendor I've ever used. Only problem is the online catalog is only sporadically updated, so it's always best to email to see if what you want is in stock (whether or not it's listed)

The Artist Shop - http://www.artist-shop.com/
Great selection of independent labels and artists here, not necessarily limited to progressive rock

Discipline Global Mobile - http://www.disciplineglobalmobile.com/index.htm
King Crimson's record label features a pretty solid online store

Doug Larson Imports - http://www.hicom.net/~dlarson/

Hope someone finds these useful. I buy from the first three regularly.

More to the Darkwave, Ambient, Industrial section: http://www.equilibriummusic.com/ - Portugese shop, sends as gift if asked nicely. Fine place.

A big thank-you to whoever pointed to Berkshire outlet. Found some Samson Francois recordings at dirt cheap prices.

On average I buy about 10 CDs per month. Most of the time I bought online. However I'm getting sick of CDs being damaged in the mail. About half of my CD are crushed to various degree when I receive them in the mailbox. Now I prefer going to the store and buy.

Haven't seen this one mentioned yet; they have psy trance CDs. Infected Mushroom, Hallucinogin, Astral projection, et al. They seem to have a good selection. Shipping took just one week from Germany to San Diego, USA via air mail (quite a ways). Seems to be a pretty reliable outlet. The one strike I have against them was that 2 of the 8 cd's i ordered weren't wrapped. I don't really care, though; they look clean and scratch free.

I was just about to make this same recommendation. They have some great hard-to-find Psy-trance and even with shipping from Germany prices are still reasonable.
