S://KIMO
Bent Crayon
Playing by Ear (email only) (playing.by.ear@mindspring.com)
Forced Exposure

Hardcore techno/breakcore:

Bloody Fist

Experimental/avant-garde/leftfield/out-there/weirdness:

Drone Records

Industrial/noise/dark ambient:

Malignant Records
Tesco USA
Soleilmoon

Okay, that's a pretty comprehensive list...

www.deepdiscountcd.com

www.deepdiscountcd.com

they are probably one of the cheapest places ever when you consider there's no tax or shipping. only problem is, almost every item is backordered, even if it says on the web site it isn't. i think 9/10 cds i buy there turn out to be backordered even when the web site says "in stock." but that's okay.... cause they don't charge your credit card until the CD is mailed. so, i usually put in the order then forget about it, until 1/2 month later the CD shows up like a birthday surprise.

in short, it's the cheapest, but slowest.

i used to order from:

http://cheap-cds.com/surf/home

but they have REALLY bad consumer support and had various other problems.... and after the shipping price, deepdiscountcd is usually cheaper.

For anything from Japan, http://www.cdjapan.co.jp is a good source. I've ordered from them multiple times with no problems.

Edited to answer FCJ's shipping question: In my experience, it's taken about 5 days between placement of the order and shipping, unless you're preordering. Then there's the time it takes to arrive from Japan. I've always used EMS shipping (3-6 days).

Hey Mekano, you have any idea who stocks this stuff in the USA? I would love to get my hands on that new Earcloud CD, but shipping from Spain is expensive...

How long does it take, from order to receiving shipment?

sorry Chris, i have no idea, i bought some EG (same label) at rasputin a while back..maybe they have the "connection" and they can order it for you...i paid 24$ each so it is pretty much the same as mail ordering .....just get more than 1 cd and you will get a good deal...i think....

more labels:

http://www.ant-zen.com/ (go to "links" there is a HUGE label list, mostly european)

Yep, Ant-Zen is good stuff... Imminent Starvation's "Nord" opened my eyes to the possibilities of noise as a musical tool. For a while, though, I had lost faith, since they seemed intent on releasing dancy club-floor crap (Converter! Hypnoskull! YeEECH!) and lost the experimental edge that made the earlier releases so great. But recently they've been regaining some of that experimental edge, what with the Squaremeter, Merzbow, and Iszoloscope releases...

A Muslimgauze release is forthcoming as well... I'm surprised there hasn't been one on Ant-Zen earlier.

For independent label stuff try CD Baby. They have a good variety of genres there. Tchno, Punk, Rock N Roll, I think they even have country.

I have looked but not purchased from Import CDs.
