ACS T1 Custom Triple Driver IEM - Page 2

Yeah milkpowder, i think your first pic is probably of a T2, though apart from the "funny wiring" it looks pretty similiar in size and everything. though on 1st pic on site you can see the 3 drivers with mid and low going into the bottom bore.

I've never used the neutrik plug so can't say much about it. however i hope they've updated their cable since i last sent it in. they've put a integrated plastic block high up which interrupts the sheathing of cable which I'm sure makes it easier to snap the cables there. I remember the old one piece silver cable style was much more resistant to sharp pulls.

I'll ask ACS for some tech specs when i send my t2s in for repair. would be interesting to see if an independent bass driver makes the freq response any lower.

Im sure soft silicone would be comfy, but what about durability?

I guess it's both less and more durable than hard acrylic ones. If you drop or step on acrylic molds, ie blunt trauma, they'll crack. Do the same to silicone molds and it'll probably survive intact. However, silicone molds are more prone to tear and cut damage, eg tugging hard on the cable, poking with a knife/pin. I've had my T2s for over a year and a half and it hasn't had to be repaired for damage other than a cracked cable sheath.

Here's a helpful insight/sneak peek on the ACS T1's sound:

ACS T1

If I had lots of spare money to burn I'd prolly go for this. Too bad it costs twice the amount of an ESW10JPN, so you won't see me with these pretty IEMs anytime soon =S

However, the Kevlar wiring and the non-detachable cable receives two thumbs-up from me. I don't like the idea of swapping cables to explore sound, especially when people around me have lost their UE cables (and worse, the whole housing/IEM(s))

There is also a review of the New 2010 ACS T1 available here - ACS T1 2010 - Hope this is useful.
