Just got a the ATH-ESW9. Listened to it and compared to the TF10s and the AKG-701 off of the Predator with lossless files. Boy what a little wonder this is. Nice all around sound, better bass than the AKG and more sound stage than the TF10s. Only down side, as they are not circumaural I can see them being uncomfortable after a while. What do others think?

All I have to say is that their awesome pair of headphones. Great sound stage, vocals are a bit too strong, you can feel the bass other than hearing it, and great for movies. Comfort is 4.5...

I know people bash on Bose because of they're over priced and I agree. I believe these retail for about $150 or so and I paid $85 for these due to employee discount at where I work. With that...

I bought these headphones as an upgrade from my BD DT-770 Pro 80Ohm. The are better in all areas, except that the right can can't handle bass. As soon as there are low bass it just becomes a...

everything about these headphones is flawless. Everything is balanced, and perfect. Any of the reviews that didn't like them most likely have a fake pair, or, hate life. The only thing I could...

I sold my ESW9s and purchased the triple,fi 10 pros. The lack of isolation and comfort is what broke the deal for me on the ESW9s. I could not wear them for more than 30 minutes. Looks like you like the sound of the ESW9s. I'd say try wearing them for an extended period and see if you experience any comfort issues. YOu need to decide if they work for you or not.
Although the triples have a smaller soundstage in comparison, overall I prefer their sonic signature to the ESW9s.

I also had problems with comfort, I couldn't wear my esw9's more than 30mn, but in fact if you adjust carefully the orientation of the earpads, it changes everything. I still can't wear it for hours but if I re-adjust the pads when it starts to hurt, I can wear them for like 1h30-2h.

Hmm, I can wear them for 4 hours, take a 10 minute break, and wear them for 4 more hours =). Granted - the isolation and sound leaking on these is pretty bad, so they are not so much isolating, rather headphones you can easily take with you anywhere.
With sound - things get different...I like their bass/midrange response, but upper midrange/lower treble need some EQ to sound more realistic - otherwise things are somewhat veiled.

Stretching headband and angling cups help comfort tremendously. For me it also helped with SQ as that tamed excessive bass and brought out more details.
