This would be even more entertaining if the suspect posts in this thread (under one of the two accounts ).

Hopefully though Jude or some other moderator will stop by soon and deliver justice to the wrong-doer.

buyers are fine. They take most of the risks anyways. We just want to stop scammers/flippers.

something like 750 posts + 3 months (as aaron suggested) for sellers and buyers can buy whenever - that sounds good to me.

Only sellers are required to post in the FS forum. The buyers can communicate with the seller through private messaging.
Hence they don't need to meet the requirements.

I am with you guys on rising the requirements. 500/750 posts and 3/6 months membership sounds good to me. Perhaps require a paid subscription as well?

Yeah, I've thought that making paid subscriptions a requirement might be a good idea too, although this is even more unlikely than increasing the post/time limits.

I think being able to sell here should be a privilege earned, not an expectation.

You're always going to find people who want to screw any system for a quick buck. It's not nice admittedly, but that's just in their nature. Some of us newer members respect peoples rights, especially when it comes to doing a deal- some of us are here to broaden our knowledge with regards to using amps, headphones and sources and to fund this hobby fairly and legitimately.

Please don't make it harder for newer members of head-fi to use the for sale forums, the vast majority of us are decent honest people. Some people's brains are wired to find and exploit a scam and others aren't

Caveat emptor- caveat venditor

I agree with raising the post limit, but then all we'll get is more blatant postcount hikes (one liners & such) just to get in to FS. And there's enough of that going on already with some* members...

If they raised the limits to 500 posts just think how barren the FS forums would be. What is that like less than 1% of the members on head-fi (just a guess)?

There are a lot of us under 500/750 posts that aren't scammers obviously. There's got to be a better way than post requirements.

Current restrictions AND a listing fee! It works for Audiogon, it should work for Head-Fi! I say $3 for the listing fee!

*insert obligatory syn whining about being forced to use PayPal comment here*

The best deterrent to this activity would be to make sure there's a strong line of communication, especially if you are selling a high-value item. If I were buying or selling a multi-thousand dollar piece of equipment, the e-mails would be flying at the very least, if I wasn't talking to the person on the phone as well!
