So fear nothing from me!

I just feel that something must be done to prevent stories like this to repeat itself. Adding further restrictions to the FS may help. But it may certainly not be the only, or "best" way...

I refused, because he struck me as untrustworthy, but mostly because I have heard that combo and think it is awful (no offense to anyone who likes them).
I received a similar PM (on 5/18) about my HP2 from the waddragon username, he asked me for my HP2 and cash totaling $1800 for the HE60/HEV70 combo he bought from cantsleep.

Firstly I didn't/don't plan on selling them, which I told him. Secondly, I saw a lot of FS activity from him during that timeframe and already had a "hinky" feeling about the guy. (I think I remembered something regarding a FS ad he posted about a pair of phones he bought on a cc but forgot to return...was past the return date and needed to sell cheaply/quickly.)

He didn't do anything wrong in inquiring about my phones and since that was the extent of our communication, I forgot about it.

Goodness knows I've been through a lot of gear over the last six months but....he seemed on a continual bender in the FS forum. I guess it just comes down to trying to get a feel for the folks doing business here, I try to buy from well known head-fiers. I always worry about selling to less well known head-fiers. However, I try to remember that description applies to me too and extrapolate.

In the end this is a good place filled with good folks - I figure the enjoyment and knowledge I've gotten from this forum is worth the risk.

Sorry for outing you for having HP-2, as it does get you unwanted attention, as do my HE60. Besides, everyone should know that I have 1st dibs on buying those HP-2 back if you sell them. I'm sure my posting that I have dibs on them is better than me peeing on them to mark my territory. Watch out at our next CO mini-meet!!

You have 28 positive feedbacks for sales and purchases, and yet if the rules are changed you might not have enough posts to sell anything. That would be a bummer.

Seems he has cleared something up with the mods as he is no longer banned and is selling his wares again in the fs forum.

I sent him an email earlier in the week, and he told me that his ban was ending on the 21st. I suggested that he not return to the boards for some time, but clearly his credit card issues dictated his return to full-force right away.

Lets hope he stay with one account from now on though...

Not that I'm saying this should happen, but is it possible for a mod to re-ban somebody for the same initial offense. Essentially, do the rules of double jeopardy apply on Head-Fi?

Hum I'm not too happy about the Grado HP2 Auction. He cancelled it at the last second, and he said he tradded the HP1 (!!!). Doesn't he badly needed money for his credit card issue????

^^ price probably wasn't high enough.

My favorite part is that he is selling the HE60/70 combo and saying he just wanted to get back "what he paid for it"...this was 1802 in his PM to me, but 2076 in his current listing. Unless he is continuing to send money to cantsleep, something is wrong here. It's just another sign that the guy is very slippery.

He bought two HE60/HEV70 setups. I know that one of them was $1800, but don't know what the other one was bought for. I thought that the one from cantsleep had new pads and was less expensive. The one I heard was the one with unchanged pads, and from the picture, it looks as though this is the one.

looks like he uses two different user names on audiogon as well. search grado and you'll see what i mean.
