Audioquest makes a "high-end" ethernet cable also, but it's only $25. I think I'd try it first before plunking down $500.

Money to burn?!?! More like "If you like to save money"

Those are high end products for entry level pricing!

This is just futher evidence that I need to get into the high end cable making game. I bet you can dress up exactly the same cable ten different ways and market them as sounding completely different and people will still buy them.

Unbelieveable.

Go to any retail store like Best Buy and try to find an HDMI cable for under $30-40 dollars. Go on ebay and buy a similar quality one for $4-5. Its like a monopoly scam among retailers. They used to do the same thing with USB cables. $20-$30 at Wallmart, Best Buy. Buy one of those online for $2. HDMI cables are the new must-have "accessory item" for retailers. Some guy plunks down a grand on a new plasma set. "Well, Sir, you must have an HDMI cable to hook it up..." Having prepared his credit card for a $1000 hit, these folks naturally say: "What, I need it? (Thinking: Oh, well, it's just another $40...). And they throw the cable onto their VISA. Just a big retailing scam.

Attention to detail when building this cable was used by empoying high quality insulation, tin-bearing alloy shielding and woven jacketing to reduce vibration and to add durability. True

Made from high purity copper wire and high performance connection parts,

as opposed to low quality copper and inferior parts???

the AK-DL1 will bring out all the nuances in digital audio reproduction from any of our Denon DVD players with the Denon Link feature.
Perhaps no better than any other network cable, but this is also true.

Sounds very fancy, but whether it helps anything - ???

Denon don't claim that it has some magical powers. They're relying on the stupidity of some consumers to assume that a $500 ethernet cable is of some considerable benefit.

People pay silly money for products all the time. Diamonds are just rocks dug out of the ground. Why should I pay a lot of money for a shiny rock?

If you can keep a straight face while charging a bomb for your cable - it might just be for career move for you .

Guys... if I was much richer than I am, I'd be blowing 500 clams on a cable. Just to give it a whirl. In reality, there is likely a point of diminishing returns in most systems. My guess is that point occurs at about 100 bucks for ICs and maybe, just maybe a tad more for speaker wire, dependent on the lengths and gauge.
