Denon AH-D7000 - Page 6

Wow, a new denon model!. The cups seems prettier and thick than those in the D5000... I hope that the materials and quality in general are better (that there will be not falling cups). Also, that these headphones have a faster speed* (transient response (*maybe because of his new drivers)) and a bigger soundstage/headstage (better that the best closed headphones and open) without the need of markl mods; that it have better separation, image, extension [bass (type DX1000, DB X-Deep Cups) more controled but with a little more slam, treble (type DT990 ext.)], forward mids (slightly more that the former headphone).
It would be bad that this new headphone was a lazy (laidback) headphone (well i don't believe because at his more capable driver (i hope...)). It have to be dramatically better if it's a new model, and not one because it have an improved drive and beautiful cups. The cable have to be better too.
Well, i hope that it to be something out of this world and not a slightly improvement (maybe i am asking/hoping much)
i will be waiting a review....
Then, for that price [($999 retail (however i will not buy for that price anyway)]....it would be made in Japan and not in china (it will be a ripoff)

If true, I will have to hear these. I will also be waiting anxiously to see what markl has to say about them.

hmm, i just hope that they do something about the whole breaking issue. i can only imagine how angry people will be if 1000 dollar headphones break that easily.

Well I for one would hope it would be made in Japan. Im willing to pay a little extra for quality in build and attention to detail. 9 times out of 10, you get what you pay for.

This does INDEED look interesting! Was there any further word on availability?

EDIT: I see latest word was October. I wonder, since they are using new drivers, if there is a chance these will be higher impedance, which would nice for those of us who favor thermionic valve amplification...

Don't know for the moment, I'm waiting news from Denon France.
For us (France) it will be available in november, for USA or Japan probably sooner.

I definitely agree. It's funny though, when I was a kid "Made In Japan" meant poor quality ......

Aha! Or is that what your uncle who worked at the local GM plant told you!

My uncle worked for Ford and My Granddad worked for GM.

They said bs like that, but luckily I wasnt biased so. My dad was stationed in Iwakuni Japan (I only got to go to Hawaii when I was in...Poor me!!! oh yeah... and then Germany[in the army not the Corps] and ....baghdad.... lets forget that last one ) and he was totally impressed with the culture and the quality and pride they put into everything they did and made.

Ive owned R10s and I know how good they were and the quality behind them as well as these x7 series cdps.

Also Winnings boxing gloves are probably the best you can buy for protection and they are Japanese as well. I mean who would think Japan and boxing gloves! But its the truth. Theres a reason why Mayweather, Cotto, and Pacquiano uses these almost exclusively.

We have come a ways!

Well I've been reading through this thread tonight and this has certainly made my day!!! I will have to start saving my pennies immediately! No doubt I will be one of the first to take the plunge on these if I have the funds at the time.

I would almost guarantee that they would have noted the mods done to these phones and incorporated them into the new design. After all, I think the only reason they would even have considered making a D7000 is because of the success of the D5000. I can't wait to hear a pair!

We need to get Denon to contribute to this forum directly. It's about time they start sharing the news with us firsthand, as we represent most of their customer base.

--- best news I've heard in a long time!

Hmmmm....The D5000 were going to be my Christmas present to myself. This makes things a little more interesting and inevitably a lot more expensive!
