Denon AH-D7000 - Page 475

Price aside (because they can always be gifted ), maybe the TH900 has a marginally better presentation?

I think I am getting ed8 back due to 1. good isolation and 2. doesn't leak.

There is this old lady at my work on the phone with the customers all day long and just annoying to hear her voice. Lol. Denon doesn't block well unless I play really loud.

If you already own d7000 no need to upgrade to th900, save money for the vacation or home renovation. wink.gif

I have to agree.  Side by side with my D7000 my 52 year old ears cannot tell much difference.  I got my TH900 by selling a D5000 and Edition 8 and using the proceeds to buy them, as I was very curious to the delta vs the D7000.  I'm still glad I did it as I had no need for either can I moved to get these.  They are gorgeous, they sound amazing and they are uber comfy.................but so are the D7000 all those things for $700ish.

Right now I've got my TH900 with Mark Lawton doing his magic to the cups so maybe they will be kicked up a notch.  Should be back within a week or so.

I am a confessed Denon/Fostex sound signature lover.  All of them, from the D2000 to the TH600 and all in between the sound is just perfect to me.  I've spent the weekend listening to my D2000's and realizing how good they are.........

The DX000s series is actually fairly balance frequency wise.  I think people get the perception of a slight bloom in the bass because it is a closed headphone, the accusations that the bass bleeds into the mids, and the mids being 'recessed' is actually, I believe, another altogether different issue entirely and is unrelated to bass volume.

I remember doing a comparison years ago between all the cans at my disposal with the HDTracks drum reference recording and found that only the D7000 had a correct kick-drum amplitude - I documented it somewhere in head-fi.  This was in comparo to T1/HD800/LCD2/HD650/K701.  Never heard the TH900, but can't imagine they'd be all that different, as pointed out by yourself.

Well, after a year of owning my beloved D7000's, it is time for me to part ways with them.

I have upgraded to the TH900.

Congrats! I think it maybe time for me to sale my TH600's and upgrade to the TH900's as well. Had the D7k's but sold them to fund the TH-600 lol So its time to come full circle and get the TH-900's. The new Hifiman's are looking very promising too but just like Frank aka Oregonian I'm a big fan of the Denon/Fostex house sound so I think I already know which way I'll lean.

Thanks,
