I live in Singapore, which is in Southeast Asia. You know the red dot on the map. smily_headphones1.gif There is two left in stock I think no many dare to splurge SGD1.5k on a Hp they don't get to audition. Because almost all the headphones on sale are available for audition, from a sub-100 dollar iem all the way up to a sr-009 from stax. Really amazing service here in Singapore, with some pretty cool amps and dac available for audition too. Since my country is so small there is only two competing stores here and one of them have 2 d7ks left. I am worried like everyone else abt spending 1500 on a Hp I can try. I tried the hd650 and LCD-2 and L-O-V-E them but the bass is lacking in quantity. Well try the LCD-2 again maybe my ears were like off.

Though the LCD2 might have more mid bass, the presence of bass is the D7000's forte due to that omnipresent sub bass. I would go that route. There's not much to hate in the D7000, and that rumble will impress everyone outside of those who prefer sheer accuracy.

Hmmm... Maybe I am looking for subbass and I don't even know it. I will try the d5k, hd650 and LCD-2 again and finally make my decision. Huge thanks to Madlustenvy and Dubstep Girl and all those who have helped me along the way! This is community is great, and maybe after gathering more headphones down the years, I will definitely come back to give back! smily_headphones1.gif

The HD650 is a watered down LCD2, so I doubt the bass will impress.

Well, my D7000's right earcup fell off. I'll be sending it over to Lawton for repair.

At least I have a pair of Koss ESP-950's coming tomorrow, I won't be without a pair of decent headphones while the Denons are in for repair.

Total bummer. I'm so worried this might happen to me.

A pair of ESP-950s?!? Those are an illusive can indeed.

Ack!! Like elwappo99, this also scares the crap outta me.
So sorry to hear this... I hope Lawton takes good care of your cans.

That sucks. I wonder if the TH600 and TH900 will come across this issue...

I was worried too, though it isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. It's nice that there's someone experienced with Denons that has a repair service, despite the fact that it's (very) expensive.

I haven't had much time with them yet, but I'm surprised they're not more popular. It's flat out the cheapest way to get a nice electrostatic headphone, and they sound pretty damn awesome. They don't replace my D7000's, they are pretty bass shy and aren't the best for electronic music, but classical and acoustic is incredible with them.

Think I must have picked up basically the last pair of these new just today. Random thread in a local forum (Australia), said to check out this particular store for AKG's and other stuff, was bored so I jumped on their website and clicked on the clearance link...............scrolled............Denon AH-D7000 :) I have been looking for these for weeks, rather not buy from OS unless I had to, put up WTB threads and everything never had any luck.

Paired with my Burson HA-160DS, these sound amazing. Acoustic, female vocals. rock, metal, house, dubstep, they just do it all. The sub-bass is amazing and will take some getting used to, they are the closest I have ever heard a set of headphones coming to sounding like speakers. I was actually startled a couple of times in a couple songs tonight, having never heard sounds/sub bass at that point in the song before, but I'm enjoying them hugely. So comfortable too :) Sometimes you just find something that 'sounds right' to you/right with your gear, and these are it for me. I've had AKG Q701's and HD-650's, but these take the cake.
