Denon AH-D7000 - Page 27

J&R had then for around 699.00 then they all went so fast that they were backordered the next day. Then, when stock finaly did arrive it was a miracle except for the fact that they were now full retail at 999.00. I bet you anything that they will not be <800.00 when they are back in stock.
Why would they do that when they know that they can sell them just as fast at full retail. Very reputable, Yes, But still in business to make money.

buy.com once offered it for $550, thats the lowest Ive seen... but they all went up now or out of stock.

Does it matter that much anyway? I just put in an order to lock in my price, and get a spot on the waiting list....they will ship it when available and won't charge my card until it ships. If somebody else gets it in stock first, offers the same price, is as reputable, I could always cancel the order from J&R. Either way I'm covered.

In case you haven't seen this thread, be careful buying from unauthorized dealers

I'd stick with authorized ones for sure, especially with the Denons being a tad bit brittle

I just pulled the trigger at J&R as they are listed on the Denon US page as an authorized dealer. We'll see how long it takes to get them

I do not have an IPOD. I do not have a D7000. I have an D5000 and I spent quite a bit of time listening to it straight out (without a dedicated amp) of a Sansa Fuze. The sound was wonderful. If you find the D2000 sound pleasurable when connected straight into your IPOD, I can think of no reason that the D7000 will not give you the same pleasure.

The D7000 should be louder at the same volume setting because of it's increased sensitivity.

The D7000s are still having stock issues? With this kind of demand you'd think they would have fixed it by now.

I don't think Denon is having stock issues. Their authorized dealers seem to get a fairly steady stream of them. I'm guessing both Denon and the dealers don't want to risk making/ordering too many and taking a loss. Even Sennheiser isn't flooding the market with the HD800. This isn't exactly the economy for expensive headphones.

The unauthorized dealers never have them in stock. I guess that's why they are unauthorized.

I cut the cable just below the "Y" of my 5k's and added a nice Paliccs 3.5 plug at that point just to make it more portable around the house. I wish I had a picture of them on my head with just the shuffle hanging from the plug.

Yup, I'm hyped now that I ordered it from J&R. Can't pass up that price which is barely $100 over what I nearly bought the D5000's for. I had a real debate on whether to go with the D7000 or bite the bullet and preorder the HD800. But Sennheiser made it easy for me since they are not allowing international orders from Headroom, TTVJ etc and I'm sure not whether it will be available in Canada and when.

The D2000 is the first headphone that I've bought that I said to myself: this could be THE ONE. The D7000 will hopefully keep all the things I like about the D2000 while improving on its weaknesses
