Sleek SA6's or UE Triple Fi 10? - Page 2

Yeah I haven't tried the sleeks, but the TF10's blew me away (not counting comfort). This enlightenment led me to the UE11.

If, upon receiving the UE11, you find them to be perfect for your listening tastes, then I would say don't bother with the SA6, you won't enjoy them. For me, the UE11's bass is overpowering in many circumstances and masks the midrange, making it hard to pick out the nuances of the music. They are there, you just have to listen for them closely. The SA6 offers IMO a more balanced presentation which an awesome midrange presence and detail. The bass will seem pretty light in direct comparison, but it really isn't.

I did the exact same thing (a lot of treble tube swapping) and a piece of the small black plastic ring around the housing broke off. And yes, it still held the tube in place, but Jason also replaced it. Seems that wear and tear is problematic. But so far, I am good with the treble+ and bass+, so no need for swapping ... only to remove the olives (since the treble tubes get stuck in them).

Good luck! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Spend a few days with the various port variations and you'll more than likely find the right combination for your tastes.

LOL. I ownend both and as others in this threads said, SA6 reproduce musical sounds. But SA6 is only good for vocal, jazz and classical.

After I heard Triples, I returned SA6 with smile on my face and never looked back since.

I am happy with my Triples over all the IEMS that I owned.

I prefer Triple over, q-Jays, SA6, Shure SE530, Etymotic ER-4P (All of them i compared A to B, I still hae Etymotic though).

Triples is not uncomfortable as much as head-fiers bashing on them.

SA6 in other hand, wasn't that comfortable either when i had compared with q-Jays.

Why don't you order 2 of them together, compare and then keep the one that you like to your taste and preference of music? That's what I did, and I am happy with my decision.

If you like fast paced music like metal, electornica, house or trance, SA6 is definitely not for you.

don't agree either. BUT that said, am thinking about rebuying based on some folks' using the silicon Shure tips. I ALMOST had them comfortable but "almost" for a 300+ IEM is a bit much

I hope it works out for you this time. The Shure silicones are the closest I came to getting a good fit with my super.fi 5 Pros, but they still didn't cut it.

I also found that the bass on UE11 was pretty serious and even bloated at times straight from my flat-eq'd X5... and I'd expect about the same result from many portables. However, when I plug the UE11 into my Predator, it's a different story. I feel this dac/amp brings a real tightness to the bass and the rest of the spectrum.

To stay on topic, I think the TF10P does suffer from this less as its bass is very tight and not as prominent as the UE11. However, I find simply EQing the bass down is a workable solution.
