I love tuners, but wasn't sure about the price cutoff!

I have a restored Scott 350B FM tuner that sounds amazing. It was $200 in 1962. Here's a pic I found:

Also have a Hammarlund HQ-129X AM/shortwave communications receiver. It was $173.25 in 1946. Another pic:

Adjusting for inflation... let's see, the 350B would be $1,449.11 in today's dollars and the HQ-129X would be $1,944.09. Not counting labor and materials for restoration.

And yes, these are thoroughly analog with vacuum tubes throughout!

They both look like great tuners in their own ways. I will bet that they still sound good too. In adjusted $$, I would say they are high end.

Thanks for sharing.

I just noticed another Loricroft restored Garrard401 on the first page list.
I guess my Garrard401 could be included than-the restored turntable plus the plinth came to about $4500 without arm and cartridge.

I just updated the list to post #114.

I'd like to also announce now that I won't be maintaining the list anymore due to personal reasons. Thanks to everyone who's contributed so far, but sorry to those who haven't. I guess if future people want to be added, a moderator will have to take up the task.

If it's somehow possible,I would be more than happy to take the care of the thread and updates. It really is a great resource. (it should be moved to the high-end forum though)

You're more than welcome to copy my list and post it in the High-End Forum, and then ask this thread to be deleted. Or something like that...
