Wow, I thought it was Gene that came up with the name. I even gave him credit in a thread. Sorry about that. CanJam as a name kicks ass.
It probably was Gene. I have selective memory and a tendency to distort reality to fit my ego satisfying needs. I guess we all do so I shouldn't feel so bad.
Like "Q-Tip, Kleenex, and Xerox", the common name will eventually blur the events together and they will start to lose their "Host City" identity.
Only CanJam will be remembered and the history of the starter 2 events will fade into oblivion.
We will have a CanJam Dynasty instead of a series of yearly events. This year's organizer's should feel free to call it what they wish, but organizers of future events should be allowed the freedom to do as they wish with the event title.
I am in agreement with immtbiker on this,it will become like CES every year.
I like the show brand idea. They have annual CES, THE, RMAF and VSAC. Soon people will recognize head-fi show, what ever the name is. Jude, you might want go register the trade mark :-).
