Now that's a good idea but sorting by price would create a few issues as far as listing goes since there's more than 1 source for some people and I can't look up the original SRP on some sources on the list...

I think $2k is a good cut off really. My source is definitely what I would consider high end and cost me $1500, but a lot of stuff in that price range really doesn't make the cut. Plus, I don't give a crap what people have at my price point... I want to see what the big spenders are using.

It's the one in my signature, a Moon Audio modded Original CD-2008 MkII. My particular unit has the Level 2 Mods with the Level 1 transformers [Lundahl nu-metal core instead of Lubdahl cobalt amorphous core]. From what Drew said, and what I heard comparing them both, the 'better' transformers really just have a bit more sparkle on the highs and perhaps a slightly larger soundstage. I didn't hear the soundstage differences myself, though my audition with his Level 3 unit was relatively short. He feels that you don't really hear the difference with a headphone setup. As for the sparkle in the highs... my system has just the right amount to my ears.

Could sort a person's list by price and then sort the list by people's most expensive source.

Like if you have:
dude1: (12k source)
dude2: (5k source) (25k source) (3k source)

pass1:
dude1: (12k source)
dude2: (25k source)(5k source)(3k source)

pass2:
dude2: (25k source)(5k source)(3k source)
dude1: (12k source)

As for finding the MSRP of some of the rare/OOP sources that I have no answer for!

LOL at purk's list. That is hilarious.

I'm double-envious, once for his sources and a second time for his wife who allows him this much craziness.

Are some of the people on the list members of Team Source First?

This list could also be called Team Crying Over Our Empty Wallets.

Actually, I'm not sure that he is... I'm holding him down in that picture, but that got cropped out.

Does a ATH-DHA3000 count? It's $3600 new. It's an amp/dac combo but it's a completely digital source.

price is a poor indication of quality; I propose we change the title to 'List of expensive digital source owers on Head-fi" to better reflect the general reality of this thread.
