Sennheiser HD 650 Replacement Parts

Hello Everyone,

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 650 which I have used since they first came out. I can say, they have really gotten their use, everyday use!! I have a couple of questions.

1) Is there anyplace to get replacement ear cover cushions? They are worn out.

2) I think the left speaker might be damaged from loud playing, is there anyplace to get a replacement driver?

I must say, these have been the best pair of headphones I have ever had. I do a lot of home recording being a musician. I record everything at 192kHz/24bit with a RME Fireface 800 Audio Interface and with the Sennheiser HD 650 I can really tell a difference when doing live montioring.

sennheiser's website sells the cushions. however, they don't seem to have replacement drivers for the 650 listed in their parts section. hopefully someone can post a place to purchase one. hope this helps...good luck.

sennheiser has more parts if you call them. there are a few certain things they dont list on the website but they do offer

IMO the best bet is to send the heaphones to them for a checkup, and replace all what is damaged....

please let us know how much the replacement hd650 drivers are after you're done ordering them. i'm wondering if they're significantly more than the hd580/600 drivers.

Called Sennheiser USA and spoke with Dwight Steveson parts manager and got the following information.

Part # Price Description
092855 $39.48 Driver Element(1 Element)
050635 $40.82 Foam Ear Cushions(1 set)
092885 $11.75 Cable

FWIW the drivers in the HD650 are supposed to be meticulously matched, therefore ordering a replacement driver without any way to match it to the existing driver may not be ideal. I agree with Sovkiller about sending them back for repair/replacement which also save you some $$. Personally, I'm going to be sending mine in soon because of the paint flaking off the headband.

The driver seems unusually low. The web site says one driver element for HD600 costs $55 but it's only $39.48 for HD650?

i'm confused as well. lol.

was the price of hd580/600 driver raised recently? i think i remember them being 50.xx

I would double check to see if they got the right order. I ordered a pair of foam discs from that same guy and he sent me a totally wrong one, and only one, not a pair.

I did not place an order, was just researching the information when I called and provided the information that was given to me from sennheiserusa. What they told me is what I listed here. I can not do better than that. If Dwight Stevenson is making repeated errors, then that is something sennheiser and customer support will have to resolve.
