Who else are the Bose of cable world?

I am looking to purchase a pair of decent interconnect.

Monster cable is dubbed the Bose of the cable world. I wonder if there are other brands that I shouldn't be looking at as well?

How about Audioquest or Phoenix Gold?

Thanks.

I've been happy with a set of Blue Jeans Cables. Construction and build quality are excellent.

X2 on Blue Jeans.
Good cables for a reasonable price.

Is there any recommendation for ready made ones?

BJC are ready made. You give them specs and they make them and send them to you.

Ok, what I meant was cable that I can get off the shelf from B&H or Amazon.

Btw, there is a local shop here that does custom cabling, they do Belden 1505F and Canare plugs which essentially is one of the BJC option, I guess I should just go with these?

If the price is right, why not try them =D and then just tell us how you think afterwards

Also, a company called KnuKonceptz makes an exceptional cable for the price.

Sure, those sound good. If the prices are reasonable go for it.

I believe Audioquest is the real deal, having had many different brand cables in my home system. They have a great reputation. But then again, just because it works for me and my equipment doesn't mean it will work for everyone. Pheonix Gold on the other hand... well, I'll just leave it at that.

It's tempting to suggest that Monster is the Bose of cables, but I think it's an inaccurate comparison. Monster is lower on the totem pole of cables than Bose is on the headphone side. When audiophiles think that coat hangers sound as good as your product, that's really bad. I'm sure we would all place Bose higher than iBuds in sound quality, right? Truth be told, I am impressed by Bose's effective marketing.

Cool, I guess I'd go with Belden or BJC.
