Well it looks like I will NOT be in the area for this. I was trying to move my other items (three things all the same day). I think that I have moved one, but the other seems to be sticking around.

I wanted to bring the WA5 and 300SEI to have a 300B comparison, if foo_me was brining the Zanden.

Oh well if things change I will let you guys know.

If somebody is coming from (or through) north SF and has room for one more in their car (and some equipment), please PM me; my transportation plans have recently been changed and I'm in need of a ride. I'm in Marina / Cow Hollow.

If I can't find a ride, I'll still most likely make it, but will have to bring less with me because of transportation and would really love to bring the SOHA and a few unique headphones and cables.

As incentive for such a nice gesture, I am offering to build a custom cable for that person.

What's the word on the hotel rooms? Still haven't reserved mine, been waiting to hear back on how the group rate is being done. Should I go ahead and just reserve online now?

Not sure on bringing the k1000 since it just seems it'll be 1 large room and when I brought it at the last San Leandro meet (another large room) it was hard to hear and really do them justice. Plus, I just got them fixed and want to minimize any future movements if it can be helped.

More good gear news. Unless it gets sold in the meantime, Todd has agreed to send the TTVJ 307A amp to the meet. I guess we have to hope for the economy to keep sucking for a couple more weeks! ;D Nice work by rhythmdevils for making the request.

Here is the deal I was sent a link to reserve rooms and it appears to be a great rate 89.99 but I need a minimum of 5 rooms per night. I can not do these as one offs so right now I have just three for friday Steve, Ken and Justin.


If there are any others that are staying the night please let me know.

Oooh, that is one amp I've got to hear! So if I followed the CanJam thread closely enough, the 2 standout amps will both be at San Mateo.
I think it's about time to give this one a name!

Man, there go all the 300b amps. And the K-100s combo. Bummer!

It is looking like I can make it to the meet.

Is there room for a Rudistor RPX-100 and balanced Edition 9s and Senn 650.
If there is, does anyone have a decent CDP that could be used with the RPX-100? My primary rig is a vinyl set up that I won't be bringing. I can bring a very modest Oppo 970 HD SACD/CDP, but it is not the best front end for the Rudistor.

Still it will probably be a great meet even if 300b/K-1000less.

High End & K-1000 Room?

I just thought of this. If there are small rooms available near-by to the main room (on the order of the San Jose hotel set up) at a reasonable rate, how about a high end & K-1000 room on the order of the last Summer's NorCal meet? I'd certainly be willing to pitch in approx $25 towards this goal. A few more like minded folks and that would cover the cost of a small room. Of course this is all dependent on the hotel layout--and a few more willing Head-fiers.

I felt compelled to let others share in the audio glory of what I've been hearing the past couple weeks, so I've decided to send in some of my equipment.

My amp, the balanced Beta 22, is already on the list, kinda unintentionally added it when I was doing that alphabetic sorting. So to add to it now are:

Headphones: Audio-Technica AD2000 APS V3 balanced, Grado HP2 APS V3 balanced
Source: Plinius CD-101

I plan to bring only XLR interconnects, so if anyone wants to listen to the system specifically in single-ended, let me know by next Thursday.

there are no plans to add a room as it adds about $300 to the cost, it would be fun but I am not sure we would have enough k1000 rigs to sustain it and make it worth the cost.

on a side note, please remember folks to bring power strips for your gear

Hey guys, I'm still a bit of a virgin when it comes to head-fi but I am interested in coming since I live close enough. However, I don't have anything to offer as I only have a pair of er6i and a rockboxed ipod. I was wondering if it would still be fine for me to join in. I really wish to get a taste of some other types of sounds. Also, would it be possible for someone to bring along a pair of grado sr60 or 80s. I'm quite interested in purchasing some and would love to get a taste of them before I make my purchase.
