Hello,
IEMs give you one single wonderful advantage, which is isolation. You could go around a town with 500$ open headphones (I tried doing so with the modded portable Stax system) and you wouldn't enjoy their superior sound with the background noise. So, if you are going to spend cash for a portable headphone, I suggest that you go for a IEM.
The OK2 are pretty good but I wouldn't suggest them for hip hop (and they are a bit too polite for rock too). I think your best bet, everything considered, are Klipsch Image X10. They are less than 200$ on Amazon.com (and you could also search elsewhere, try Google Product Search) and overall some of the best deals in portable headphone realm when you find them for less than 200 bucks (but not for the original price tag, that was 349$).
The Yuin PK1 are equally great, but you would need an amp that kills portability, convenience and the overall quality/price ratio.
