News from Stax - at least for me... :)

Seems like Stax has refurbished their lightweight series - which you can see here: http://www.stax.co.jp/ENG/in-the-ear.html

So has anybody tried the SRS-005 and especially the SR-001 MK2 System, yet? The SR-001 MK2 is the portable one (driver unit using two AA cells) which should cost around 800 DM (~ US$ 350). I wonder about the sound quality and comfort of this system.

Greetings from Munich!

i've heard they sound electrostaticy, but i really want to hear a comparison with the etymotics because they seem to be in the same class, at least price wise.

Yea! I would love to know how they compare to the Ety's!

Earbuds that sound like electrostatics....versus electrostatics that are earbuds?

yoooohhhhhhoooooooo! todd!! tyll!! could this BE something here?

But the Etys have awesome bass. Do you really think budget electrostatics can match that part?

I don't think I'd like electrostatic transducers that close to my brain. But if they sound good...

You don't want them close to your brain, BUT IF THEY SOUND GOOD? Heheh. A true head-fi quote that must be chisled in stone.. the sacrifices we'd make for good sound now go far beyond money!
