Well I went from no go to strong possibility. I am going to be in NYC visiting the fam that week and think I can sneak out Saturday for some friends, beer, oh and headphones. I may have a lawyer friend in tow as well.

How long is the drive I haven't done it in 20 years or am I better off flying in?

I'd personally recommend the amtrak. The drive can be a huge pain or it can be painless. Best case is 4 hrs. Worst is 8. The train is fairly nice.
