i will be in china too. i will be anywhere but here. the key is under the back mat. do not wear shoes in my house. use the toilet & flush. please, no pecker tracks on the sofa. i will not tell the ball & chain that she will be entertaining house guests. she needs a dose of shock therapy. also, do not drink my last soda pop.

Not sure I really want to be the next poster with the direction that this thread is so rapidly heading...

....but taking a sharp Re-Turn to the thread subject.....

Had really wanted to attend what had to be a great meet that you had set up & hosted last year. But - life events just got in the way!

July - August sounds like a plan! This will be my first meet - so I am THERE!

Not sure the mini-meet is still hapenning since that thread seems to have stalled. Sounds like SK138 is totally overwhelmed by demands on his time right now to be able to host that event.

Any consensus on a good time and place? My default will be that same residence inn in early august, because it was a great room that's easy to get to from both baltimore and dc (just off the BWP near BWI). It was also reasonably priced.
The description of the facility that you gave for last years event and the feedback posted on the event sounded like it perfect fit. Since I am in Southern Maryland (between Potomac and Patuxent Rivers next to the Bay), obviously I would prefer closer - but its not like distance from CA, FL or NH that others are contemplating

This is our rehearsal for a national meet, so let's do it right
July/August calendar is waiting for the event date to be marked
Can carry up a couple of the Millet Hybrid MAX's (BJT & MOSFET Buffers) along with Mod'd Tosh SD-3950 & Mod'd Samsung HD-841 (SACD) for sources.

Newbies are always welcome, it's a large part of why the meets exist. I'll turn post 1 into a poll for dates

there will be no stevieo tracks at the meet itself. What happens at his house is his business...

the meet will be about music and conversation

grawk,

have you figured out where to hold the meet? college park was pretty convenient at the university conference center. i guess there are potential places along rockville pike or even silver spring perhaps. downtown dc is probably on the expensive side.

july 26 and august 2 are the best dates for me. after that i hope to be away for the rest of the month.

btw, i don't leave tracks.

I'm still leaning towards arundel mills, but I'll check several other places, and inquire about some free ones as well as time gets closer.

College Park, Bethesda, Silver Spring along with the Rockville Pike and BW Parkway Corridor areas all work - including of course Arundel Mills.

Agree, the downtown DC area is least of interest. Worth the extra drive distance to avoid DC. May be all right for those that haunt the Metro Rail system or road warrior daily commuters....
- but I prefer to avoid it like Pecker Tracks on a sofa

Glad to see daveDerek enjoyed my little joke

Lets plan on August 2nd, and we'll adjust if necessary. Depending on how many people are coming, we can do this at a hotel or find a party room somewhere.

I'll definitely be here the 26th and maybe the 2nd.

I'm also on the Virginia side - if it is much of a drive from here maybe we can work out a carpool
