Folks with portable amp rigs, what format do you use? - Page 3

I've experienced audible clicks and pops in songs ripped using iTunes (mac) with error correction ON. The CDs were scratch free, like new. Now the only ripping app I trust is EAC and a quality DVD/CD drive.

BTW, why no one bother to implement AccurateRip other than EAC and dBpoweramp? IMHO its one of the best ideas. I read about cdparanoia but without the collective knowledge from AccurateRip how can you be sure?

Maximum bitrate for atrac3plus on the HD5 is 256kbps. I tried for a long time to play 352kbps on the HD5 and nothing worked.

I re-ripped my entire CD collection with dbpoweramp's secure mode and AcurateRip enabled. The secure mode just isn't enough. I had a few japanese imports in my collection and using AccurateRip I found out two of them were Taiwan bootlegs! Man, I was pissed (paid full price)! Secure mode would just tell me that the files were ripped correctly. It was AccurateRip that told me my rip was different to 12 other people.

I bought the CDs again from a more reputable dealer, re-ripped them and confirmed they were genuine with AccurateRip. I also compared the waveforms of the fakes to the originals and there was a diference!

I couldn't hear it but I felt a lot better...
