ED9 owners and OmegaII owners

Hi, I am hoping people who have owned both the Edition 9's and the Omega II's could provide some input as I am looking to purchase an electrostatic setup soon. I own the Edition 9's and love everything they do. The fullness/melodic layering they provide is probably their best characteristic and is why I love them so much (none of my other phones have been able to do this nearly to the level of the Edition 9's). My fear is that the Stax earspeakers don't exhibit this quality. If you have heard, or preferably own both could you share some insight. Thank you.

Fullness and layering are the characteristics O2s will mop the Edition 9 into the floor with...

what amp were you using? also how would you explain descriptions of the OII's as sterile, lacking emotion? my impressions with electrostatics is that often people like what they are capable of but conclude that it comes at the cost of impact. I find that the impact of the E9s (though by no means overwhelming) really enhances the layering and overall listening experience. For this reason alone I prefer them over any of my other hps. My fear is that with the OIIs with their 'electrostatic character' will fail to provide this beloved experience. One which has become a priority for me having heard the ED9s.

I agree with Malos. I have owned both edition 9 and OmegaII. I decided to sell the edition 9 after listening to OmegaII. At first, I also thought that edition 9 's sound is very good(detail, nice soundstage). The more I listened to it the more I loved it. I can even feel the effect of S-Logic(very nice surround sound). However, when I start listening to OmegaII and come back to edition 9, I can only say "Wow, why is the sound of edition 9 not enough fullness". For detail, OmegaII is also as detail as edition 9 . However, because of its fullness you need to listen carefully in order to hear all of the detail frequency.
hope that will help
i had edition 9 + rudistor rpx-33 and OmegaII + KGSS or SRM-007T

Driven by the 717, the O2 has plenty of impact. In fact, the bass comes quite close to that of L3000, which IMO, has the best bass of any closed can.
