Headamp GS-1 Owner Registry

Okay, I've performed my advanced searches with unsatisfying results. I'm looking for some more recent Headamp GS-1 Owner comments.....or....just say you own a GS-1.

I have a GS-1 and I'm very pleased with it playing through my K701s or DT880s. The only thing I don't like about it is that the on/off switch is on the back and the gain switch (which I hardly ever use) is on the front.

I don't think there has been a GS-1 shipped in the last 6 months so it may be difficult to find "recent Headamp GS-1 Owner" comments.

I ordered one on Dec 9 so let's just say I am a GS-1 owner (at least in spirit). Justin has the enclosures so it should be here soon! I can't say much about the amp except that I can't wait to try it with my Darth Beyers (right now I just have a tube amp which isn't the perfect match with Darths).

Hi, dont mean to hijack the thread but what tube amp do you own, and why does it not match the darths? Thanks.

I've had my GS-1 for just about a year -- really fantastic amp and works quite well with my K701s. In fact, I liked the GS-1 so much that I decided to spring for the ultimate - GS-X - which I ordered in Jan and hopefully will be shipped within a month or so. I already have a set of balanced K701s which I'm feeding off the GS-1 for now using a phone plug > double XLR converter -- works like a charm, but can hardly wait to hear true balanced. Once I get the GSX, I haven't decided what to do with my GS-1 -- I may put it up for sale but still not sure.

I have a Singlepower Extreme (Tung Sol 5998s/RCA 6SN7GT) which is an absolutely fabulous amp (I love it to death with K701s and 650s). I just think that Darths sound better with solid state. Actually, to be fair, the Darths sound pretty good with the SP Extreme (the Extreme makes everything sound good). I did not like my Darths with my Darkvoice 332 however!

There are a few of people on the forum looking for a GS-1 (Binaural Fusion and riceboy to name a couple). You could be kind and sell yours to one of them.

On another note, I just heard from Justin that my GS-1 will be shipped in a few days!!!!!

Thanks shellylh for mentioning us (Binaural Fusion and I) for the GS-1. I haven't been waiting as long as Binaural Fusion, but he wants a DACT one. Glad that your GS-1 will be shipped soon . Congrats on your new amp. I know you'll love it.

Nice!! Great to know Justin's building and shipping....Can't wait...I ordered in January and will be adding myself to the registry very soon. I had received an email a few weeks back from Justin and he stated what you confirmed...sound like he's right on track and I'm starting to feel like a kid on Christmas Eve!

I have one with DACT for quite a while now and I'm perfectly happy with it. It's definitely one of the best things I bought in this hobby.
Can't say anything bad about it. It's beautiful to look at from outside and inside. It drives every phone I throw at it excellent and it's also a nice preamp.

Well, I ordered it on the 16th of April, so if the 8 week build time is true, then I'll be getting it mid-next-month

I'll be sure to tell you what I think though.

Are there not more GS-1 owners on all of head-fi? If so, step forth and be counted....please...love to hear you impressions and it would be very much appreciated.

You see, I've used the advanced thread, read all I've found and still find myself in need of more...I need a fix to hold me over until I receive my GS-1.
