Pricejapan & DHL

Do they knock when a item is delivered? I only experienced them once & wasn't happy. They left my 360 outside my door. No door bell. I found out cause I checked my status. It said delivered.

DHL didn't knock for me, even though they trucked an instate shipment halfway across the U.S., then delivered damaged goods. Also, having worked for UPS in the past, I rarely if ever use them or DHL.

Who actually expects DHL/UPS/Fedex to knock or ring the bell?

I gave up on that idea a long time ago.

Heh... at least that's better than Citylink in Edinburgh. They don't even bother delivering your package, mark it as failed delivery and make you trek all the way to their obscure depot to collect it.

UPS & Fed Ex always do for me??

On two occasions I picked up EPS rather than DHL option with Pricejapan. Both times cans were delivered via courier to the door within 3 days after placing order. Cannot ask for more.

Consider yourself lucky. That isn't standard practice.

The always do that when delivering top me.
They call me 20-30 minutes up front to hear if I am home and available. UPS have even delivered the parcel at a different location (work) when asked.

/me very pleased!

I've actually only had good service from DHL. UPS/FedEx on the other hand...

I think it all depends on if your delivery guy is a nice guy or not, or if he's got a lot of packages to deliver. I've never really had a problem with any of them, but I have all of my stuff delivered to work so I don't have to wait to get home to oogle it

Luckily the delivery for UPS/Fedex here are good. DHL on the other hand has been pretty bad. I had something that I purchased from PriceJapan before and DHL sent it off to the wrong hub to be delivered so it took them 7 days to get it here. Also, I had a couple of rack mounted servers delivered by DHL. One came in and the box was completely opened. All the plastic bags that had all the RAID drive enclosures were opened. I had to have the vendor sent out another one and when that one came in the box had a huge hole in it like it was kicked, but luckily the server was okay. On another occasion DHL delivered a HP printer with stacker. The box was in very bad shape and had a hole in it as well. I had some other stories, but you get the point, DHL in my area isn't good.

Once, the DHL delivery jet docked in mid air alongside my company's lear jet. The DHL man made his way gingerly across the wings, keeping very tight hold of a steel cable. Since he could not risk compromising the hermetic seal to the "lounge" section of the company jet, he secured the medium-sized package to the outer hull with lots of industrial grade duct tape. After that, I became a DHL customer for life. : )

But did he knock?
