FS: AKG K181 - barely used

For Christmas I received these K181s instead of the K81s (merchant shipped the wrong headphones - fortunately for me). A quick search will reveal the whole story. Anyway - I want to sell them now because I'm trying to fund an expensive speaker purchase.

Here they are on eBay: AKG K181 DJ headphones - eBay (item 200221783580 end time May-12-08 09:09:47 PDT)

They are near mint, barely used. I even upgraded the stock cable.

I have a 100% positive feedback score on eBay. I also have made several successful transactions here as well...with the exception of one instance that was not my fault.

...really? no interest from anyone on these great phones? The auction is ending soon and they are currently at $70 (shipped for Head-fi members). Brand new they are at least $130 - and these are certainly in near mint condition.

wow, i can't believe that these haven't been snapped up. this is a stupendous deal. for little more than the price of the perenially popular k81djs you get a sturdier and better sounding phone. they just haven't yet caught on on head-fi. search for a few users comments such as those by senns&nonsense or jjcha, for starters. someone grab these and enjoy 'em!

To echo DaveDerek's points - These are by no means merely "DJ phones" they do produce outstanding and fun sound and, yes, they are very sturdy, so they'll last forever. AND I uprgraded the cable - which is a $30 value rght there! I personally was amazed by their strong (but not over-powering) bass when I first put them on. But, then agan, I'm a bit of a basshead.

I just bought a new pair for $112 shipped to USA from Hard to Find Records in the UK!
