SoundMAGIC PL30 Adjustable Bass Earphones - Page 7

at first they lacked bass, but then afterwards the bass came in, they remind me of the senn 595s, unless the bass is really present you're not going to notice it much. but an e3 boosts the bass to much enjoyable levels, but adds a little hiss.

My bass button seems to be stuck, anything i can do ?

Btw, pl30 are just great with Fiio E5 and Meizu.
A very natural sound.

Just try harder, or ask someone with stronger grip. Both my bass knobs felt stuck at first too. I just tried harder and they loosened up.

How do these compare to the Denon AH-C551?
I was thinking to get these as a backup or when I go to run....

I can tell you thats It’s not PL18 who can compete with PL30. The high-mids and highs weren’t that nice and clear as spoken and they were also harder to drive. Sound thin!
For first time experiences I think these are properly ok if you want soft highs.
I place them below PL30 for now.

Unfortunately these were the only one Focalprice shipped to me a few days ago. Weird. I bought PL12 and PL20 as well but I simply don’t know what happen to them. Don’t know if they maybe arrive later or something by Focalprice simply went wrong. I agree that sometimes the shipping info is a bit confusing.

EDIT: Unfortunately Focalprice now has take back their promises and say that the rest was in back order.

The SoundMAGICs are probably real and the Sonys are probably not.

As for the web shop it seems to be using FocalPrice.com's drop shipping service. You pay for the service of thinking it's "here in the UK" and feeling more secure ordering from them.

If you want to save money and possibly get faster delivery, order from FocalPrice instead.

Which of the SoundMagic PL IE is better?
One would say the "pricier" PL30 is better, but I saw in this forum that some prefer the younger brothers (PL12).

Could someone give me a word of advice on what should I get?
I listen mainly to metal (but also hip-hop / instrumental).
(I have the Denon AH-C551....just wanted another similar low cost backup.)
