Hey Germania, I was just wondering how you came to the conclusion that the FreQs were the most detailed you've ever heard. I'm sure you were listening to songs that you weren't listening to when you listened to the listed high-end headphones, so I'm not sure you can say that you are hearing more things because it just may be the recording.

Also, regarding the build, how does the translucent blank look? I am planning to get translucent blue. From what I can see, your customized graphic looks great, and I'm glad

Finally, is the clear shell really clear (like UE clear)? Or is it sort of foggy like the ones we've seen in the FreQ Impressions thread?

Wait, you (-=Germania=-) never heard the Livewires?

Then the review is (slightly) inaccurate, isn't it?

I really don't doubt Germania's sound impressions for the most part. The FreQs do sound amazing. It's just that I also know that auditory memory is very unreliable, which is why I was hesitant to make concrete statements in with my own impressions.

I'm also sure the Music Maker line sounds better than my Super FreQ since the company has learned a lot since introducing the Super FreQ.

Thread Starter
The shell on mine is VERY CLEAR. It is smooth and has an almost glass like finish. There is no fog to it. I saw thre translucent blue UE and it looks similar. It is very shiny.

It is annoying to hear all the background noise on many things ( older recordings).

The translucent black is a cool look and helps it blend better with the clear interior. I would imagine that a Translucent blue would look nice, but I don't know for sure because I have no experience with other colors. It is fun to see it as blac in low light and then hold it up to a light and see through it.

The level of detail makes sense because these are balanced armatures - look at what people say about the detail on ther UE's. It doesn't strike me as odd that these would have similar results. The level of detail between electrostats and these would be indistinguishable. I listened to the 003 Stax setup at the recent meet and it had only slightly more detail than my im716's ( much better soundstage though).

The FreQ has done a lot with their build quality in such a short amount of time. They look really good and have a first rate finish to them.

HI ALL!

Fist of all, Germania's review is astonishing... And lemme tell you something else...

IF YOU CAN DO BETTER, THAN DO IT-
Because I bet you bottom down that -=Germania=- is one out of a very small group that CAN actually review these... And BearCat, what was your username before you created a new account? Because as I see you joined today, and have 1 post; hmmm Salt Peanuts perhaps?

Thanks much all,
Pencemen

I'm Glad you have the ability to use google.

Google that Email address and you will find that I am a MALE... and I am Germania's Brother. Think before you speak man.

Ok, now I am done with his thread as it has lost my interest. And I also do not enjoy conversations with people who like to show people up, and people who try to strike someone down for posting reviews about headphones that they've truly listened to.

For those of you who do not know much about Northwestern, It is in the top 10 schools of the country, and NW normally gets all of the pre-release shows and tech fairs/meets for most or all of the new technology about to come into the market.

SO, in turn, being a student at northwestern, she is able to give inside reviews and such for new "up and coming" products that you will eventually see in the market... Which allow you to compare and contrast in this forum for some constructive criticism...

I respect all of the reviews I see no matter WHAT the format, and WHAT their take is on the product... Because I like hearing new information, and I hope you all enjoy hearing new info. about new products too...

Exactly ! Not even it they're obvious, to make a point. Not only that, when caught ( That includes you too, non-mysterious Mr. Bearcat ), it kills your credibility.

Please knock it off.

EDIT: Just saw the post above after posting this. Having a hard time believing that. Expect a PM.

Thread closed.

After some checking, I am now convinced that Germania is telling the truth regarding her brother.

Disregard ALL of the accusations aimed at her regarding this.

Bearcat on the other hand is an existing member and now obviously, a troll.

Hehe, this thread is great

I wonder how these compare in sound quality to the Westone 3 prototypes, as they both utilize three drivers with a three-way crossover.

Will we ever find out?
