At the airport now.

Had a blast. Extra thanks to the So Flo crew and coordinators along with the Vendors. And even then, I would still go to Head-Fi international meets if there was no gear at all.

About to board the plane, I had no problem getting my shwag and prizes (TTVJ Millet Hybrid Portable Amp, Crossroads portable amp, and Sleek Audio SA6's) through security.

on life support

after 4 days of spirited partying I a happily exhausted. This years meet was a blast, great people, great live music and great gear. For those that were unable to attend you missed an epic event. I can not thank Mike (Tyrion) enough for all he did to pull this amazing time off.
While meets for me are more about people than gear(hence the name meet), here are some impressions.

In no particular order

Woo audio's new two box Woo 6. This amp confirms for me that power supply is he most critical part of an amp. This new two box design is great and powered all comers from grados to k1ks with authority. I would buy this over the modded one box version in a heartbeat. The electrostatic amp is a great way to break into the e-stat world not the last word in power and clarity but a great amp at a nice price.

Eddie Current: It is always a pleasure seeing Craig and it was nice to have him at an east coast meet. He had the ecss and the Balancing Act. 300b or 45 power tubes are user switchable and allow for nice tube rolling potential. The amp sounded great at the meet and is my pick for a balanced amp in the under $4000 pricepoint.

Headamp:Justin had the Blue Hawaii there and damn that amp had the omegas and he90s singing like never before. If you are in the market for a world class estat amp get in while you can I think this is a limited run with just a space or two left.
N_Maher, the Menace amp: this amp is another super clean build and outstanding amp from Nate. It really had my RS1s singing with many amps low end on grados can be a challenge but this amp was solid sounding top to bottom.
Well there is more to come later , thanks to all that attended it really is the people that make these events special and something worth traveling for.

Start saving your pennies for next years International Meet, it is a time you will never forget.

No podcast that I know of, but Lan and I were shooting a lot of video. He has all of my footage, and he will be making a video.

Have patience, a video takes time to edit and upload.

CANJAM '08 Impressions

Whew, and wow! I have to say this was by far the craziest National Meet yet! The gear was dizzying, the people were all either amazingly cool or amazingly crazy (or both), the location was swank...and it was Florida!!! I didn't really get to spend as much time outside of the hotel as I wanted to but that turned out to be a non-issue.

First of all, big thanks to tyrion and crew for putting together a fun, whacked-out meet packed with all sorts of people and gear! Head-Fiers are just a great bunch of people and it was great to meet all kinds of new faces and see old ones again too, from the two Canucks (philodox and GlendaleViper) to my new man HighLife (and other Florida-area peeps) to Nate, Ed, & others, and of course everyone I met in NYC and Cali. And the vendors are just really great people too, Head-Fiers should be glad they have some of the most all-around decent & cool people supporting this crazy hobby, from the standard giants like HeadRoom, TTVJ, RSA, Singlepower, HeadAmp, Moon Audio, etc, to newcomers like Sleek Audio, Klipsch, TheFreq, Crossroads Audio, etc. Uncle Wilson threw in a boatload of prizes into that raffle prize stash, that was awesome!

'Twas good times indeed, very good times!

Big thanks too to Dr. Jan Meier for adding in that sponsored contest for two free hotel rooms where I won one of them, it was very much appreciated.

Thanks to all for coming, 'twas a time of the meeting of the minds and muscles of the Head-Fi community and more than anything this one was just plain fun & cool, must be that humid Florida air. There were a lot of people who flew in for this meet it seemed, I think more than half the attendees were out-of-state!

Anyone who didn't make it missed out. As I've said before, the Head-Fi National Meet series is a CAN'T-MISS EVENT. These are the stories that will be told, the one-of-a-kind experiences that you really just HAVE to do!

Yeah, sorry about that man, there was like no time on Sunday. Too much craziness going around and I had to re-pack stuff fast.

I could definitely bring the HP2 to the next Florida meet though, whenever it turns out to be.
