quick questions

1. most my music is on hard drives and ive never had to burn an audio cd and ive been using eac to rip music from cd's to my hdd. is the eac burner good enough for burning the music to cd-r's? or is there a certain software that people use for burning stuff just like they use eac for ripping cd's?

2. im trying to figure out which songs to bring to canjam with me and it sucks because i want to listen to all of them on everyones gear but sadly so it would take me ~9 months according to foobar if i were to play it all continuously. that MIGHT be a slight issue considering canjam is only 2 days. so heres my problem.

a. do i bring a little of everything or a lot by a few artists? would it be wise to just stick to a genre or perhaps even just an artist/band? the more i think about it the more i realise that even though 2 days may seem like a long time, it isnt nearly enough to play with all the gear thats going to be there

b. with any particular rig, what would be considered the polite time limit for using someones phones? i know its subjective and people are going to be awesome at canjam and wont care how long you use their stuff but im sure there are going to be other people in line to listen to the gear as well. if someone is waiting their turn, do you finish your cd or let them have their turn and then come back to that table?

3. if i were the one doing the waiting, do i just stand around and let the other person finish or leave and come back?

4. i dont care much for iems but i will probably try out a few anyways. would it be ok to bring along some alcohol rubs to clean them after using them or is that something you arent supposed to do? it would only make sense to clean them before giving them back to the owner but i wouldnt want to take anything apart without the owners permission and having no experience with iems i wouldnt want to either even if it was just to clean them.

5. ARE YOU PSYCHED FOR CANJAM??? RAWR. i cant even sleep im so excited and tomorrow being my last day of school before the summer session starts just makes coming to canjam and relaxing all the more fun.

Re cd thing, maybe bring a couple things you know well enough so that you can hear the different presentations on different rigs. They'll also be plenty of music around for you to just kick back and enjoy.

Re time at rigs, just be considerate. There will be plenty of gear to listen to, but there are always the few rigs that everybody wants to try. You'll know which ones when you get there. You can always listen to a couple songs and then come back another time. CanJam is on Sat AND Sun so you'll get to hear everything you want. You can stand around while waiting, but if you're breathing on someone's neck, you're probably too close

As far as iems go, there will be extra tips around. I don't think most members bring iems for anything other than their own personal use, but the vendors with iems will come prepared.

Exited for CanJam? I'm smiling as I type. See you there!

if you really want to use someones IEM i would suggest getting some tips of your own. I have some older tips i can bring which i never used. However, i hate it if someone used my iems with the tips i use, ewww..

Music is a personal preference thing. Bring what you want to hear and make sure you ask before you put it in peoples CDP. You can load it up on your Ipod or whatever and bring a cable to connect it to the amp. If you want, burn some CDs with the music you want to hear most. Mix and match, doesnt matter. I bring mostly all my cds pretty much. In case someone wants to burrow something or what not.

ill just bring 6-7 cd's. i dont think i have many more blank cd's anyways. i thought of just taking my hdd out and popping it in an enclosure and bringing that with me, but then it would only work with people whose sources are computers =/ cd's it is. now the rest of the day shall be spent in deciding which songs to pick

ps. i got a 94 on my ethics final so BOOYAAH
